Of all the INR course offerings I have experinced, this is the best. It present objective data, supported by, cited in the work research and a numerated index for further study. It answers the question posed by the title, and the author’s bias does not come through in the writing (like other courses I have taken with INR) Barbara Sternberg, Ph.D. reviews and evaluated the three main approaches to addiction today and offers scientific evidence as to why a harm-reduction model is a “compassionate, reality-orientated treatment with far-reaching benefits” [p.35]
